Alain, captain: “Thanks again to everyone for your participation, we have suffered on a course that is not at the level of the one we usually play the results of the team demonstrate” .Bravo to Philippe Vallée with the best Gross team (20) and Gérard Dubouchet best Net (31). In the classification of the day we are 8th out of 9 and we remain 7th out of 9 overall. All details are on the site asp-golf.frThe next competition is scheduled for June 18 at the golf of Digne-Les-Bains, notice to volunteers.

The ASP was stopping in Miramas this morning, May 7th. Nice performance for Pont Royal with Claude Mosca 3rd in the Brut with 27 points, Corinne Ouvrard 7th in the Net with 36 points, and Gérard Dubouchet winner of the approach competition. Pont Royal with 186 points is 3rd team in the ranking of the day behind Miramas 1st ( 191 points) and Saumane 2nd (188 points). In the general classification we are in 7th place. On the souvenir photo are missing Claude and Nicolas who were not deprived of dessert

Premier Team

The Premier Team of Pont Royal competed in the 2nd Division French Championship in Toulouse (16 clubs present). Objective: to try to climb in 1 st division and at least avoid the descent! For this event Camille Bordone is back! At the end of the first 2 rounds of qualifying Pont Royal is not one of the first 8 who will fight in match play to play the climb. The ranking counts the 10 best cards of each club of the 12 played. … the details of the scores below.The third day sees Royal Bridge fight in match-play against Frégate, the winner now in the 2nd division and the loser descendant in the 3rd division …. the same Frégate who we had beaten Valcros a league ago in the league championship! Our four best players are focused on the “simple” (4 points possible). Frégate wins the double … and Pont Royal wins 3 singles and shares the last single. .. to win the victory and achieve its goal of maintaining the 2nd division for 2020 !!

KONINGSDAG DAY

Margriet and Imelda, the “Dutch fairies” of the success of Koningsdag

The Cup of the Dutch, also called “King’s Cup” attracted 80 participants in shot gun at 8:30 for a scramble competition to 2. Sun and wind at the rendez-vous as well as the good mood of our Dutch friends who are involved to make this party a success! Some original “rules” on the course: Hole 1, departure by exchanging shoes against hoofs and outfit ” orange “… Hole 5, putting with one arm (left for the right-handed ones) …. Hole 9, no wood allowed … Hole 17, exchange the putters with his partner … and without forgetting the approach competitions at 13 and drive at 14! All met on the terrace for the cocktail and award ceremony richly endowed thanks to the generosity of many sponsors. A big congratulations to Margriet, Imelda and the whole Dutch team for their commitment and good humor!

SEVERIANO BALLESTEROS CUP

Monday, the second phase of this competition in “single match play” .17 games and as many points to distribute …. to see again the victory of the “North” by 10 to 7 for the day and 15.5 to 11, 5 in total … for the second consecutive year.

George Laird captain in 2018 has passed the trophy to Tom Anderson captain 2019.

Summary of the first day: Saturday first day under the sign of good humor and .. under a nice sunshine.Dix teams “Latins, Helvets .. +” against ten other “Anglo-Saxons, Nordic Celts … +” in match play “Greensome” for this first round. An air of “Northern Europe” against “Southern Europe” .. and two new captains this year: Tom Anderson for the North and Alain Rault for the South.At the end of doubles, the North leads by 5.5 to 4.5 …. everything will be decided Monday during the 16 match-plays in singles !!

Two new members at the Association Sportive

At the meeting of the committee of the Sports Association on April 11, two members were co-opted, in accordance with the statutes, following two resignations. Marie-Claude Danrée takes the continuation of Joan Chamary within the office and Boris Smit replaces Arthur Delgado in the committee. A big thank you to our outgoing members: Joan for his commitment especially to our loyal sponsors of the competitions and Arthur who was in charge of youth animation. Welcome to Marie-Claude and Boris.

Dames PACA at Sainte Victoire

Second meeting of the season at the Sainte Victoire golf course for the Interclub Dames PACA in stableford individual with a shot gun start at 9:30 for the 79 players on a course always panoramic.

Pont Royal, represented by Imelda Looman, Margriet Sigwalt, Marie Pierre Bleriot, Manon Duret, Anne Carole Galaup, Micheline Blot and Sylvie Torner,  scored at  6th place with 79 points:

Sainte Victoire / Aix en Provence are 1st with 92 points,
Cabre d’Or / Luberon 2nd 88 points, Dolce Frégate 3rd 85 points
La Salette 4th 83 points, Saumane 5th 81 points.

Congratulations to the team for this result which brings us back to 3rd place overall and especially  to Manon, 2nd Net of the day.
The wind made the game very complicated and out of the 79 players, only one managed better than his index.
Very friendly atmosphere for the meal on the terrace.
The 3rd meeting of the season will be played at the Miramas golf course on Thursday, May 30th in Stableford individual shot gun at 9:30.
As usual, players who wish to participate in this competition are welcome.

CELTIC & ECLECTIC AWARDS DAY

Ladies’ Tuesday is intended to welcome the new players of Pont Royal regardless of their index.

The awards ceremony for the 2018 season for La Celtic and Eclectic took place during a dinner meeting 22 ladies. Alas some faithful like Francoise or Micheline D, Bernadette and others were absent, but on the other hand many “swallows” were with us. A meal under the sign of the gaiety and a true moment of conviviality.

A special thanks to Fiona , initiator of the Celtic, who by his generosity has largely participated in the festivities and our sponsors TAAJ and Tsarine.

The “ASP at Manville

,

Thanks to Barbara Karol, Jeanie & Simon Hughes, Alain Desbouvrie, Alain Rault, Philippe Vallee, Jean Louis Bilhou and Alphonse Ribbers for their participation in the Manville competition on Tuesday 9 April. In particular course conditions with little greens, the team could do better than 8th out of the 9 teams. Pont Royal is 8th out of 9 overall after 2 competitions.

We will have better days !, next competition in Miramas on Tuesday May 7th. Reminder : you must be a member of the AS to participate and be up to date with  the medical certificate.
